Last night our family attended a wonderful evening out at Glacier Greens Golf Course, one of our local courses. Friends of Tim and Andi had organized a celebration evening whereby other friends of theirs and family members got together to celebrate the wonderful turn around in Tim’s heath over the past year.
Most of you who read this blog from time to time know that one year ago Tim was very sick and things got worse until a new heart was found for him on Dec. 22 of 2014.
Tim, Andi and their family have received so much loving care from this wonderful community of the Comox Valley, and last night it all came to a head through the tremendous efforts of an amazing group.
There was a silent auction followed by a dinner (cooked by a friend). A short video of Tim’s life from birth to present came next, and the whole evening wound up with a dance to a live band.
It was so good to see everyone loving life, meeting and greeting each other and caring for each other in so many ways.
The evening also helped raise funds for Tim and his family, to help them through this tricky stretch where he is recovering from the transplant, unable to work, and facing more corrective/replacement surgery for a leaking heart valve.
From our family to all the brilliant organizers comes a heartfelt thank you. Enjoy the pictures which are courtesy of Marcie Dumais.
