Since last Saturday and over the past weekend to Wednesday, we were camped at Naka Creek which is north of where we live on Vancouver Island. It took us about 3 1/4 hours of driving time to get there, with 1 1/4 hours of that done on logging roads. For those of you outside of Canada, the logging trucks have right of way on their roads. Fortunately we didn’t meet one coming our way. If you’d like to see a clip of some active trucks, watch below. It’s long so you might just want to watch part. (video credits to Tim Twichell)

Our camping trip was blessed with good weather, a lovely site, great people and fab food (thanks especially to GJo but also to Andi and Cynthia). We even saw a humpback whale or possibly it was a Minke. I think pictures, and there are lots of them below, can do a far better job than I could to show the beauty of this place. We are so blessed to live where we do.

Goodbye for now and God bless.

  1. HI Martin

Looks like you all had a fabulous time! What a great place to camp! How was the motor home????

    Thank you for sending this!

    Love L

    • Hi Lynore. It is a beautiful place and a good time was had by all.I had my worries about taking the RV in there over 75 minutes driving time on logging road. The RV performed beautifully. for my liking, 20 feet was too small but Cynthia seemed happy. at one point we had the two of us, Tim and the two children around the table playing Go Fish!

    • Hi Peter and Diana. The weather here has continued on with brilliant blue skies and scorching heat. We are now at stage 3 water restrictions and the situation is quite serious. Hang in there with the cold. Looking forward to you first post on the trip Peter. Best wishes. Martin

  2. Hello from the Jones trio, currently in Corsica! You certainly do live in a beautiful part of the world! Best wishes from us all. Andrew, Sian and Lauren

    • Well it is lovely to hear from the Jones family any time but especially when they are on holiday in Corsica. We’ve never been there Andrew so I would be very interested to read what you think of the experience on that island when you get home. Love to all. M
