I was born in Wales, in Abertillery which is set in the coal mining valleys of eastern Wales. I went to junior school and Grammar school in that town. Later, I attended a teacher training college in Exeter, Devon, and then taught in Camberley , Surrey quite close to London. In 1967 Cynthia and I emigrated to Canada and began teaching in the Comox Valley where we stayed for over 30 years before retiring.
My hobbies are golf, reading, and watching all kinds of sports. I am also a volunteer for the B.C. Transplant Society though I have slowed down in my participation over the years. Cynthia and I are fortunate to have had two wonderful sons. We now have two grand-children and love them to bits!
