Cynthia was born in Wales in a small mining community. She attended the local Grammar School and then went on to a teacher training college in Bristol. She taught near London for two years before emigrating to Canada 1967 She lives with Martin in the Comox Valley and taught there for over 30 years first as a primary school teacher and later as a school counsellor. She raised two sons and now has two grand-children. Her hobbies are reading, doing puzzles of all types. She is active in her community and is on the board of directors of the local hospital. She is also a board member of the African Communities Technical Services organization which provides water and many other services to communities in Africa. She is active in her church and spends much time as possible with her grand-children Oliver and Charlotte.
